It is useable with 3 to 5 volts systems. There is one downside of this sensor is they use the Dallas 1-wire protocol, and which is somewhat complex. This protocol requires a bunch of code to parse out the communication. When you are using this temperature sensor with a microcontroller put a 4.7K resistor to the sensing pin.
